My name is Xander de Beer
At the age of two, I found myself captivated by a busking jazz group. Today, I continue to channel my profound passion for music in the world of video game composing. Drawing inspiration from various genres, I strive to evoke deep, human emotions through my music and create immersive soundscapes that allow the player to get lost in the world of the game.
Music Engineering
For 3 years, I created Pop/EDM music and gained thousands of streams. This experience helped me learn the basics of composing, arranging, mixing, and mastering, which I now apply to my current focus on orchestral and instrumental composition.
Micro Games
My journey into Game Audio began with some exciting Game Jam Projects and early prototypes with my developer friends. These projects helped me gain a deep understanding of the gaming world, and I was able to integrate dynamic sound systems using third-party programs like FMOD and WWise. It was an incredible experience that fueled my passion for Game Audio!
Starting a Studio
For the last 18 months, I have been working hard to build a new Video Game Studio, Grizzly Moose Games. Between designing the core elements of our first game and planning a sprawling, dynamic soundscape featuring entirely custom sounds and music, I have learned so many invaluable lessons that I can bring to the table for your project.

I'm an expert in Ableton Live 11 and I know the ins and outs of FMOD middleware. I love using Splice's top-notch, royalty-free sound FX libraries for my sound design projects. Plus, I have a home studio where I can easily record custom sounds and killer guitar parts. Let's make amazing music together!

Musically, I specialize in orchestral and guitar-centric compositions. Whether it's acoustic, electric, or both, I'm your man. My sounds tend to be in-your-face gory, wet, squelchy, and generally gruesome in nature, but I can make just about anything sound great.
